Tomas Kral is a Swiss product designer based in Lausanne, whose practice is rooted in a deep preoccupation with materials, processes, and the possibilities of industrial production. He established his studio in 2008 while completing his third degree, in industrial, product, and luxury design, at the École Cantonale d'Art de Lausanne (ECAL). His working method is one of rigorous investigation: complex research distilled into pieces of exquisite simplicity, spanning tabletop objects, lighting, furniture, and accessories in glass, cork, and ceramic. A recipient of the Swiss Federal Design Award, Kral brings the same material intelligence and reductive clarity to his collaboration with NUDE Glass, glassware that rewards close attention.
